Check-in Report

Once we have produced the Inventory we recommend that we use this to check the tenants into the property.

The check-in is a shorter less detailed report that is carried out at the start of the tenancy and references the inventory. The purpose of this report is to detail the exact condition of the property.

Our inventory clerk will meet the tenant on the day the tenancy commences, any necessary amendments to the Inventory will be noted.  The tenant will have the opportunity to also add their own comments at this stage to the document. If there are any changes to make to the inventory these will be recorded on the check in document, each page of this document is signed by the tenant and witnessed by the Clerk.

The check-in report is an essential document as it ensures the tenant has confirmed they are in agreement with the contents of the report and in our experience ensures that there is a strong legal agreement as to the state and condition of the property.

The clerk will also hand over keys for the property and record utility meter readings.
